Catherine McGrath added to Black Deer Festival

McGrath, the Irish singer and songwriter who blends fresh-faced pop music with influences straight from Nashville, releases her debut album, Talk Of This Town, in July. “I can’t wait to play Black Deer festival,” she says, “it’s got such a great lineup so I’m excited to catch their sets and to play my own songs to some brand new faces too.” Read more about Catherine in issue 8 of Country Music mag – she’s on our 2018 Hot List!

Ahead of the album’s release, Catherine has released her new single Wild. Co-written with Steve Robson, Lindy Robbins and Jeffrey Steele, Wild is one of her favourites on the album. “It’s about a guy who I liked but who still wasn’t over his ex,” says the singer. “He took me to a Coldplay concert that he was meant to go to with his ex and half the time he was holding my hand, the other half he was texting her. Every time we were together he was only ever halfway there and the day after the concert I went into the studio and ended up writing about the whole thing. It’s really honest and I think that’s what I love most about it.”

Talk Of This Town is released on 27 July.
